Haze Terpenes: Super Silver Haze, Amnesia, Lemon Haze and More

What makes a strain a “Haze”?

Haze terpenes are aroma compounds associated with Haze strains and their named terpene profiles. Haze is not one terpene or a standard chemical formula. The name appears in different cannabis crosses: Green House Seed Co., for example, lists Super Silver Haze as Skunk × Northern Lights × Haze, and Super Lemon Haze as Lemon Skunk × Super Silver Haze. That leaves plenty of room for different aromas. Some descriptions emphasise lemon, while others lean towards pine or wood. Jack Herer is included here as a useful pine-and-herbal comparison, even though its name does not contain “Haze”.

This guide compares six profiles in the Owls Oil catalogue: four botanical options and two cannabis-derived options. For the basics, read what terpenes are.

How to read the table: the terpene lists and aroma notes are cannabis strain references from Leafly, not batch analyses of Owls Oil bottles. The range and size links describe our catalogue. A matching strain name does not establish identical ingredients or proportions.

CDT means cannabis-derived terpenes. Botanical profiles use aromatic compounds sourced from other plants. Read how cannabis-derived and botanical terpenes differ before comparing the two sources. For the rest of the catalogue, use our strain terpene chart.

Terpene references can differ between sources, plant selections and batches. Even the same three names cannot tell you whether two blends smell alike. Their proportions and the rest of the aromatic mixture matter.

The six Haze profiles

Super Silver Haze

For Super Silver Haze terpenes, Leafly's current strain-science summary lists myrcene, caryophyllene and limonene. Green House Seed Co. describes its version with woody and pine notes, and lists myrcene, D-limonene and alpha-pinene among its most expressed terpenes. The difference is a useful reminder that a strain name does not identify one universal profile. Leafly reference · breeder reference.

Super Silver Haze is commonly described as sativa-dominant. Leafly readers report feeling energetic or uplifted after using the cannabis strain. These are personal reports, not promised results from a terpene product. Terpenes alone do not contain cannabinoids or reproduce the strain's intoxicating effects. Source: Leafly's reader reports.

Owls Oil's botanical option is currently labelled “Super Sliver Haze” in the selector. The links above select that existing option. This guide uses the usual strain spelling.

Amnesia Haze

Amnesia Haze terpenes are often discussed alongside its lemon and earthy aroma. Leafly's current summary names myrcene, caryophyllene and limonene. That overlaps with its Super Silver Haze list, but does not make the two strains or blends interchangeable. Source: Leafly's Amnesia Haze profile.

Our Amnesia Haze option is botanical. Compare it with Super Silver Haze by the product specification and source, rather than assuming a shared terpene list means the same flavour.

Super Lemon Haze

Green House Seed Co. describes Super Lemon Haze with a pronounced lemon-zest flavour alongside woody and pine notes. Its documented parentage includes Super Silver Haze, but it is a separate strain. Source: the breeder's description.

Leafly's current summary lists terpinolene first, followed by caryophyllene and myrcene. A lemon aroma therefore should not be used as proof that limonene is the most abundant terpene. Owls Oil lists Super Lemon Haze in the botanical range. Source: Leafly's terpene summary.

Jack Herer

Jack Herer's general strain descriptions lean towards pine and wood, with an earthy note. Leafly lists terpinolene, caryophyllene and pinene in its current strain-science summary. It is a useful comparison when you are interested in the greener side of this group rather than a lemon-led name. Source: Leafly's Jack Herer profile.

Owls Oil's Jack Herer option is botanical. Read our pinene and terpinolene guide for the difference between those two aroma compounds.

Lemon Haze

Leafly describes Lemon Haze with a fresh lemon taste and smell, and lists myrcene, caryophyllene and limonene in its current terpene summary. Lemon Haze and Super Lemon Haze are separate catalogue options, so keep the full name when choosing a variant. Source: Leafly's Lemon Haze profile.

Our Lemon Haze option is cannabis-derived. That identifies its source, rather than guaranteeing a particular terpene ranking or the same composition as a botanical lemon profile.

Ghost Train Haze

Ghost Train Haze's reference aroma combines sour citrus with floral notes. Leafly's current summary lists terpinolene, limonene and myrcene. It offers another reference point for comparing citrus descriptions without treating every Haze name as the same scent. Source: Leafly's Ghost Train Haze profile.

Owls Oil lists Ghost Train Haze in the cannabis-derived range. Compare its source and product details with the botanical options before choosing.

Haze vs Haze

Amnesia Haze vs Super Silver Haze

Both have myrcene, caryophyllene and limonene in the reference lists above. Amnesia's description puts lemon and earth together. Super Silver's Leafly flavour notes include citrus alongside skunky and earthy notes. The useful comparison is the balance of the full profile, which a three-name list cannot measure. Both Owls Oil options are botanical.

Super Silver Haze vs Super Lemon Haze

Super Lemon Haze has a documented connection to Super Silver Haze through its parentage, but the breeder describes a more explicitly lemon-zest flavour. In Leafly's current summaries, Super Silver starts with myrcene and Super Lemon with terpinolene. Choose the full named profile rather than treating “Super” as a sign that one is a stronger version of the other.

Super Silver Haze vs Jack Herer

In the reference table, Super Silver Haze lists myrcene first, while Jack Herer lists terpinolene first and includes pinene. Their general aroma descriptions overlap around earth and wood, while Jack Herer has a clear pine reference. These are differences to explore when comparing flavours, not predictions of how a terpene blend will make you feel.

Choosing an Owls Oil Haze terpene profile

Use the table's size links to select the exact existing variant. A botanical or cannabis-derived source is one part of the choice. The bottle's specification and intended use are also relevant. Concentrated terpenes should not be treated as ready-to-use vape liquid.

For aroma vocabulary, read our myrcene, beta-caryophyllene and limonene guides. To compare this group with fruit-led names, see the Pineapple Express guide or browse the terpene collection.

FAQs

Is Super Silver Haze indica or sativa?

Super Silver Haze is commonly described as a sativa-dominant hybrid. Green House Seed Co. lists Skunk, Northern Lights and Haze in its parentage. The classification describes the cannabis strain, not an effect that a terpene blend will reproduce.

What terpenes are in Amnesia Haze?

Leafly's current strain-science summary lists myrcene, caryophyllene and limonene. Specific products and batches can differ, so use a matching batch report to establish the composition of a particular bottle.

Which Haze is most citrusy?

Super Lemon Haze is a useful starting point for a lemon-led strain description, while Lemon Haze and Amnesia Haze also have citrus references. These descriptions do not establish which Owls Oil bottle is objectively most citrusy. That would require a direct comparison of the actual formulations.
